The selected entrepreneurs to Road to Growth Mexico… …talk about their experiences… …challenges and lessons learned… …during the first implementation of the program in Mexico. My life as an entrepreneur… …has been really cool… …it has been a rollercoaster… …a little complicated… …I’ve achieved many things I wouldn’t have done if I was still working in an architect’s office… I’ve been able to grow in all areas of my life. It’s a little hard, being a woman in this country… …I’ve obviously had many challenges… …it’s been lonely, it’s been hard… …but, in general, it’s been a great life… …it’s been completely worth it. How did you hear about Road to Growth Mexico? I found out about Road to Growth Mexico… …thanks to a friend… …who shared it on Facebook… …I immediately applied. I found out through an email from the university I went to… ….and I was one of the lucky 500 selected entrepreneurs. What are your expectations of Road to Growth Mexico? I want to learn how to have a real company… …the program focuses on all the things that I struggle with… …having a solid base of the finances and the structure of a company… …we only get hired by certain clients… ….and our growth is a little stagnant… …I’m here to learn from my mistakes in order to make things better out there. I also believe that the networking opportunities offered by this program… …is really interesting, particularly because it is networking between women. What did you learn in Road to Growth Mexico? That we all have the same fears… …we can create a network of strength in order to overcome them… ….and something that amazing was learning how to make a pitch… …the idea behind your project, how and when your project is going to grow… …and what you need to make it grow. What has been the biggest value of the program for you? Having organized financial statements… …it was something I’d never done before… …and now I am not working without a guide. Creating networks with women who have a lot of value… …their ideas are incredibly valuable and they have very interesting and important projects. All the different exercises and approaches on being an entrepreneur… …forced me to think twice about the project I started with… …and I think I now have a different, but much more solid idea. Has Road to Growth improved your life as an entrepreneur? I have a little more confidence in myself… …in the beginning, it was chaotic to know that I wasn’t doing things correctly… …and putting everything in order has been a lot of work… How is my company going? Are we solvent? Do we have liquidity? And moving forward, not giving up with the growth of the company. What comes after this first phase for you? Completely formalizing my company and having a better structure… …all this knowledge will allow me to push my company forward… …and augment my visibility in society. What was the most valuable aspect of this first phase? All the connections we made… …the social networks we made through all the workshops… …what I take with me is a very solid financial structure for my company. What advice would you give to other women entrepreneurs? Keep fighting… …believe in yourselves and don’t give up for anything in the world… …we can achieve anything we want… …if you have an idea, make it happen, start your business! What would you say to Cherie Blair and to the sponsors? Thank you so much, really… …thank you for implementing these programs in countries who need it the most… …there are so many other entrepreneurs that still have not had the benefit of all this knowledge… …I want to thank you very much for this big opportunity… … that you are giving to Mexican women entrepreneurs to continue our growth… …thank you for helping empowering us… …it was a very valuable program, I hope you do it again… …and I hope that this initiative keep growing so we can be more women entrepreneurs in this country.
